Hi,

I'm dave, and I would like to thank you for visiting this web site.

Please notice I did not say "my" web site because I consider myself more an administrant, or steward, than possessor.

To the best of my ability and to the extent my faith allows (meager as it may be at times) I have dedicated this site to God and his glory.

And I want this to be your site.
I am asking for your help to make this site something that blesses and brings glory to God.

Let me begin to try to explain what set in motion this bold venture with a quote by Leighton Ford.

Each of us has a story –  what I call "a story with a small s," the story of our own lives.  At some point in our journey through life, our story collides with the Story of God – "the Story with a large S."  God's Story calls our story into question.  We must make a choice: either to reject the Story of God or to merge our story with His Story (Leighton Ford,  The Power of Story, p.10).

Here is one of my concerns, one of the "why's" as to why I began this site.   I believe our world has been flooded with stories about God, and people are colliding with these stories about God and not having the opportunity to hear the Story of God thinking it's another story about God, and they are tired of hearing stories about God.

Honestly speaking, if people are going to die and go to hell for not believing in Jesus Christ for salvation,
then they should at least have the opportunity to not believe the real thing, the truth about God, the Story of God, not a religious substitute, not a story about God, not the contrived skepticism of secularism, not someone's superficial sentimentality.
Let's give them a fighting chance.  Then if they choose not to believe, at least they have been confronted with the true story of God.

Would you take a moment and think about this with me in the presence of God?

Am I telling the world the truth about God?

Are we telling ourselves the truth?

Are we telling stories
about God, or are we telling the story of God?

So part of my story with the little s, that being dave with the little d, and the story of itsaboutGod.com is helping people to hear the Story of God, an account of the reality of God and what that means to you, to me and to our world.

I am asking you to help me help them.

Sincerely in Christ,

dave

Don't try to read between the lines or look for hidden meanings in this letter. We're writing plain, unembellished truth, hoping that you'll now see the whole picture as well as you've seen some of the details. We want you to be as proud of us as we are of you when we stand together before our Master Jesus.

This is a terrific responsibility.

Is anyone competent to take it on?

No--but at least we don't take God's Word, water it down, and then take it to the streets to sell it cheap. We stand in Christ's presence when we speak; God looks us in the face. We get what we say straight from God and say it as honestly as we can.
